Our legal team wrote some fancy jargon that goes something like "you own the copyright to all website pages and the content contained therein, and that associated protection of content benefit shall inure to you, excepting content specifically excluded in a statement of work agreement, content subject to existing copyright or trademark, and quotations of content reproduced from other sources." Zzzzzzz.
Who Owns Domain Names Registered On Your Behalf?
You do.
All internet domain names obtained on your behalf are exclusively your property. We will register ourselves as the technical contacts associated with domain names unless you wish otherwise.
Can We Add Our Trademark To Your Site?
Yep. We reserve the right to place a wee little trademark at the bottom of each website page. Hey, we're proud of our work!
Can We Use Your Site In Our Portfolio?
Yep. We reserve the right to include images of website pages in our portfolio, together with relevant commentary, subject to the restrictions of our non-disclosure agreement (see next question).
What About Sensitive Information?
We acknowledge that in the course of our work with you, we will receive, have access to and be entrusted with information which is strictly confidential, not publicly known, has value from not being publicly known, and is subject to efforts by you to maintain its confidentiality.
We agree to keep confidential and refrain from using or disclosing, directly or indirectly, any of this information for any purpose.
We also agree to refrain from using any of this information for our own benefit or the benefit of any third party.
Are We Concerned With Standards Compliance?
Absolutely.
We engineer all sites to full compliance with governing web standards organizations, and we audit all sites for compliance.
What About Security & Governance Issues?
We apply industry-standard best practices to the security framework of your site.
We also evaluate the design of your site against applicable governance as required (Bill 98 in Canada; Sarbanes-Oxley in the US).
Is Your Data Safe?
Yes. We have never had data loss, theft or interception.
We know how to lock things down.
